Radiant Floor Heating warms you—not just the room—
by gradually radiating warmth into a room,
starting where you need it most, at your feet.
Your entire floor becomes a warm, comfortable heat source.
The product is made of a heating wire secured to a fiberglass net
and generates 34 to 51 btu/hour/sq.ft. (equivalent to 10 or 15 watt/ sq.ft.).
It is usually installed as a source of comfort and supplemental heat.
However, in most cases, it can be designed and used as a primary source of heat.
You control the temperature with a specially designed
digital floor thermostat to personalize your comfort zone, while saving electricity.
You can also choose to control the temperature with a dimmer switch or a timer.
Radiant Floor Heating is an ultra-thin electric heating mat or roll.
Only 1/8 inch thick, it is installed in the thinset cement used to lay down ceramic tile, marble or stone floor;
or in self-leveling cement under vinyl, carpet, laminated flooring or hardwood floors.
The heating roll has enough elasticity to make shallow installation in the mortar pratical,
yet adds only an 1/8 of an inch to the total floor thickness.
In turn, this leaves room for additional rigid insulation in the floor,
on top of the concrete or any sub-floor, which can increase
its overall energy efficiency dramatically and reduce a home's heat loss.
The heating roll is embedded in the thinset cement by the flooring contractor,
at the same time the floor is installed.
The thinset cement falls through the holes of the fiberglass net
and creates a level floor, ready for the flooring material.
The fiberglass net allows for a one step, easy installation of the setting mortar.
The heating roll comes in Easy-Fit rolls that can be cut and turned to fit your particular floorplan.
The roll structure ensures uniform spacing of the heating wires for an even distribution of heat.
