My 15-year career in psychology as a clinician, researcher, and professor has, although seemingly unrelated, contributed to the creation of this functional art. The traits required of this field developed in tandem with my furniture making skills. Many of the pieces I build are reproductions of museum pieces or pieces in private collections. I believe the pieces and period in which they were built require a fair amount of research and time consuming effort beyond the building process.
