Allan Montaine has been a professional assignment, stock, and fine art photographer since 1984. Self-taught in the main, he has taken technical courses in lighting and technique from private instructors and at Parson/New School in New York City. He has done work in advertising, for major international corporations, foreign tourist boards and private
clients. In the past several years Mr. Montaine has been involved in producing images in black and white and color in various parts of the globe for his ongoing investigation into cultures and locations around the world.
His work has been seen on exhibition at the Keane-Mason Gallery on
Fifty-Seventh Street and at the Musavi Art Center in Soho. Mr. Montaine’s work has been aquired by several corporate collections around the country, including Multex.com, Credit Suisse First Boston, Bank of Ireland and NYCERS (New York City Employee Retirment Service). Recently work from China was exhibited at EMR Imports in New York City and in the lobby areas of the advertising agency Young & Rubicam.
Allan Montaine Photography was awarded the Certificate of Achievement by the Association of Graphic Artists and given the Small Business Growth Award by the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce. He has served as Vice President on the Board of the American Association of Picture Professionals and currently is still a member of that board.
